A. Payment of fee and personal signing of release form. Minimum age for
pit admission is 14 years (with written permission be parent or guardian.
MUST BE WITNESSED) minors must see us well in advance, so we may prepare the
necessary releases. DO NOT wait until race day. Pit admissions are
non-refundable and non-transferable.
4. RESPONSIBILITY:
A. The Raceway and Association assumes no responsibility for damage to
or loss of your equipment, vehicles, of any means whatsoever. In restricted
areas the Auto Racing involves risks and he assumes these risks with full
awareness and knowledge.
5.CONDUCT RULES FOR DRIVERS & PIT CREW:
A. Any fighting at the track will subject the offender to suspension
depending upon the seriousness of the incident and the decision of the
Officials. Any continuous problems from the same individuals will result in
permanent suspension.
B. We expect courteous conduct from all participants at all times. We
do not tolerate profanity in front of the race fans or Officials. Profane
signs on your car, sex signs, etc., on your car or clothes will not be
permitted. We expect you to look like Ladies and Gentlemen and to act like
them. If you can’t abide by our rules, stay away. Be clean, uniformed and
look respectable. Suspensions will be awarded if, in the opinion of the
Officials, they are necessary.
C. No Driver may get out of his car on the track or infield during the
race. If this rule is violated, the Driver maybe disqualified from that
event or suspended.
D. There will be no drinking of alcoholic beverages in the pit area or
use of controlled substances during or before the racing program, NO
EXCEPTIONS! Anyone caught with any of the above on his person or in his
equipment will be removed from the pit area. Any person who is, in the
opinion of the Track Officials, intoxicated or under the influence of a
controlled substance will be removed from the pit areas and suspended from
racing. This includes any Officials. The length of suspension and amount of
the fine will be determined by the Officials and the Board of Directors.
Anyone who does not leave the pit area immediately after being suspended
will be subject to arrest and prosecution for trespassing.
E. Any person who uses abusive language or strike a Track Official
will be suspended and will forfeit all season points, any prize money due
and may face prosecution. The Board of Directors will determine the severity
of the incident.
6.PROTESTS:
A. Any protest must be presented in writing to the D.O.C. (Director of
Competition) within 15 minutes of your event, accompanied be a protest fee
of $25 for procedure or scoring (Protest fee is returned on scoring, only if
you are correct). Non-visual, mechanical protest fee of $200 will be
returned to the protester if car is found illegal or will go to the
protested car if found legal. The Driver’s Committee will review the protest
at the track and a decision will be made. All decisions made by the
Officials and/or Drivers Committee will be final and binding. No arguing
will be tolerated.
B. The Track Officials reserve the right to inspect any car at any
time. Failure to comply with the Officials request will result in suspension
of car and driver.
C. All fines go to the appropriate fund for the car being protested.
7.DRIVERS RESPONSIBILITES:
A. Vehicles enter restricted area at their own risk.
B. Inspection Sheet will be used, if your car does not meet technical
rules, you have one (1) event to repair. You will be allowed to race that
night for no money or point and you must start scratch. If the car or safety
equipment does not pass safety tech it will not race until it has passed the
safety inspection.
C. If a car has been cleared for race day, any driver may drive that
car as long as he/she starts the races in that car. If you change drivers in
the middle of the racing night your car will start scratch. A driver may
drive in more than one (1) class. You must notify the pit tower before that
race.
D. ALL CLASSES MUST do their share of wheel packing the track with
their racecars. Failure to do so will cause that car to start in the back of
all events. Officials may wave this for a good reason. Cars must complete
five (5) laps of packing.
E. When called to stage all cars must do so immediately. If you are
not in your position or not assuming position assigned by the Pit Tower, you
will be sent to the back of the pack.
F. Any driver who delays the start or restart of any event by holding
his/her position or not assuming the position assigned by the Flagman, will
be sent to the back of the pack.
G. The driver will be responsible for all persons or crew members
which sign in under the driver’s assigned registered car number. If there is
a person in a pit, which has not signed the release required be our
Insurance Company and does not have a pit wrist band issued by the admission
gate to them, then the car driver will be subject to a $100 fine, plus
suspension for that entire event. They will be asked to leave the pit, at
the time it is determined that they have a person illegally in their pits.
This applies to member and non-member alike. The driver and all others
involved in the violation, will be fined or suspended or both, at the
discretion of the Track Management. All fines must be paid before you are
allowed back on the track.
H. All drivers shall be at least 14 years of age, as required by our
Insurance Company.
I. To receive Summit Raceway points, you must be a member of E.C.A.R.
J. Non-member of E.C.A.R. shall be charged a $10 additional fee
Car/Driver and an additional $5 fee for pit passes.
K. Work Party participation (April-September):
1. Any person who helps at a scheduled track work party will receive a
coupon for $3 off general admission or $5 off pit entry fees.
2. 1 coupon per person per work party.
3. Each coupon good for 1 use only.
4. Coupons will expire 1 physical month from date signed.
L. Association Meetings (April-September):
1. Each E.C.A.R. Member who is physically present at the monthly
racing meeting will receive 1 coupon for $3 off general admission or $5 off
pit entry fees.
2. 1 coupon per member per meeting.
3. Coupons will expire 1 physical month from date signed.
M. Off-Season Meetings and Work Parties:
1. 1 coupon per meeting or work party per member.
2. Coupons will be Sponsor coupons good for $5 off general or pit
admission.
3. Coupons good for 1 race only.
4. Sponsor coupons food for 1 physical year from date given.
8.PROTEST PROCEDURES: MECHANICAL
Protests must be presented in writing to the D.O.C., along with a $200
protest fee (cash only), no later than 15 minutes after the conclusion of
the Main Event in which the protested car is competing. Only drivers
competing in their class may protest cars within that class (i.e. a driver
is Pro Stock may not protest a Mini, etc.). The protest document should
describe specifically and fully what is being protested. The D.O.C., in
conjunction with the Technical Inspectors may defer the teardown to minimize
the damage done from dirt at the racetrack. However, steps will be taken to
ensure that the evidence is not destroyed or altered. In all cases the
inspection will take place before that protested car is allowed to compete
again. Protested cars found to be within the prescribed limits will result
in the presentation of the protest fee to the owner of the car being
protested. If the car being protested is found to be illegal, the third
offense will result in a $200 fine and a two (2) race suspension to that
car. All illegal items must be repaired prior to racing. If fines are
assessed, the car will not be allowed into the pit until all fines are paid.
The Rules Committee will assist the D.O.C. and the Technical Inspector in
interpreting the rules applicable to the protest.
Protest Procedure: (procedural or scoring)
Any protest must be presented in writing to the D.O.C. within 15
minutes of your event, accompanied be a fee $25 for procedural or scoring
protest. Protest fee of $25 must be in cash and is refundable, if the driver
is correct. Money goes to the point’s fund if driver is found to be
incorrect.
9. CAR APPEARANCE AND NUMBERS:
A. Cars must be painted. No primer and maintained in an attractive,
professional manner. Cars not maintained may be denied the right to compete
at the discretion of the Track Officials.
B. Numbers must be 18” high and at least 2” wide on each side of the
car and on the roof.
C. Roof numbers must be readable from the right side of the car.
D. No more than three(3) numbers or number/letter combination. No
fractional numbers allowed.
E. Numbers must be painted contrasting colors to the car or out lined.
F. Front and rear numbers must be 4” in size, painted in contrasting
color.
